DUBAI - SHOPPER'S DELIGHT
Dubai offers the traveller a mixture of western and Arab culture. It's the Middle East meets Hong Kong, with a little Las Vegas thrown in for style; a cosmopolitan melting pot at the crossroads of time - and the typical home of sand, sea, sun and of course shopping. |

Dubai is home to science-fiction style skyscrapers
from the sand rubbing alongside the mosques and wind towers of old
Dubai. Dubai is really two towns separated by Dubai Creek (Khor Dubai),
an inlet of the Gulf. Deira lies to the north and Bur Dubai to the
south. Apart from the 'shop-till-you-drop' experience, Dubai also
has wonderful examples of traditional architecture to feast one's
eyes upon.
When to go: The best time of the year to visit the Dubai is between November and April, when the weather is coolest. The famous Dubai shopping festival usually runs between March to April. |
